The Mumbai International Maritime Arbitration Centre (“MIMAC”) is established as an independent institution headquartered in Mumbai, India, with the primary objective of administering high-quality arbitration proceedings in disputes arising out of or related to maritime commerce, shipping, logistics and international trade. MIMAC is committed to fostering a world-class, efficient, transparent and neutral arbitration framework, aligned with India’s maritime policies including Sagarmala and supporting the objectives of “Ease of Doing Business” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
MIMAC’s Rules are designed to facilitate the resolution of maritime disputes through expeditious and cost-effective arbitral procedures, while upholding the fundamental principles of fairness, impartiality and due process. The Centre emphasizes domain-specific expertise, accessibility to Indian and global maritime stakeholders and responsiveness to the needs of both developed and emerging markets in maritime trade.
